St Michael and All Angels
Church Lane, Haselbury Plucknett TA18 7RE
The building you see now is largely Victorian, but we know that a church has stood on this spot for about a thousand years and although we have no historical records, Christian worship here might well go back even further.
Our parish is part of the Wulfric Benefice, which takes its name from a holy man who lived in this church during the 12th Century. For an astonishing 29 years, Wulfric stayed enclosed in his cell, which was located where the vestry is now. His reputation as a healer and counsellor spread far and wide and he attracted visitors from all over Britain.
Whether you visit our church during the week or join us for Sunday worship, we hope that you will find here something of God’s peace and the warmth of Christian fellowship.

Services
The first Sunday of each month is a ten o’clock Common Worship joint service of Holy Communion for the three parishes of Haselbury Plucknett, North Perrott and Misterton and hosted by each church in turn. Afterwards, tea and coffee and biscuits are generally served.
On the second Sunday in the month, we follow the Book of Common Prayer with a service at 11am in St Leonard’s. The service on the third Sunday is Common Worship held at 9:30am in St Leonard’s. Each of these services is about an hour long with hymns, readings and a sermon.
On the fourth Sunday in the month, there is a shorter service at 8am, which lasts about half-an-hour, without hymns but with readings and sometimes a sermon and sometimes not. This follows the order of the Book of Common Prayer. All three services celebrate the Holy Eucharist.
In those months which have a fifth Sunday, we now have a service in which all six parish churches join, held at one of the six churches in the parish.
